Abstract
Ministerial Decree No. 698 validating the Regulation on capture of wild fauna for captive breeding, release, introduction, re-introduction, acclimatization and cross-breeding shall be amended to add the following wording: “Without authorization, it is permitted to capture wild animals: included in the list according to the Appendix, for the purpose of keeping and (or) breeding in captivity; sick, wounded, injured, or at risk of death as a result of natural disasters, or which may pose a threat to the life and health of citizens, in the manner established by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus”. Ministerial Decree No. 638 regarding some issues of wild fauna and wild flora management shall be amended to add the following wording: “Wild animals may be removed from their habitat without permission if these animals are sick, wounded, injured, or are at risk of dying as a result of natural disasters, or if they may pose a threat to the life and health of citizens. The decision regarding a wild animal is made by a commission for assistance to wild animals, created by local executive and administrative bodies, in accordance with the procedure established by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus”. Decree No. 610 of the Council of Ministers validating the Regulation on modalities of issuance of permits for capture of wild fauna species shall be amended to add the following wording: “Wild animals may be removed from their habitat without permission if these animals are sick, wounded, injured, or are at risk of dying as a result of natural disasters, or if they may pose a threat to the life and health of citizens. The decision regarding a wild animal is made by a commission for assistance to wild animals, created by local executive and administrative bodies, in accordance with the procedure established by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus”. Regulation on the procedure for the cooperation between state authorities and other organizations upon the detection (identification) of a sick, wounded, injured wild animal, or endangered by natural disasters, or which may threat to the life or health of citizens establishes that for coordinated interaction between government agencies and other organizations when a wild animal is discovered (identified), local executive and administrative bodies (basic level) create commissions to provide assistance to wild animals. In the event of detection of signs of contagious diseases of animals included in the list, the specialist of the veterinary service of the district (city) acts in accordance with the legislation in the field of veterinary activity.
