Resolution No. 8 of the Ministry of Forestry amending Resolution No. 84 of the Ministry of Forestry validating the Regulation on allotment and estimate survey of forest felling areas.

The determination of the volume of standing timber is carried out in the manner established by the technical regulatory legal act: (a) by the number of trees designated for felling (during gradual and selective felling for final use, renewal felling, felling for the formation (reformation) of forest plantations, selective sanitary felling, felling of trees that interfere with the passage of logging equipment during the removal of timber from felling areas along the existing logging network, felling of trees that are intermediate hosts of forest pests and diseases, outside the boundaries of existing and planned forest nurseries and forest seed plantations, felling of trees left in the felling area for the purpose of forest reproduction (seed trees), felling of trees for feeding wild animals, felling of trees that are dangerous in relation to highways, public railways, overhead communication and power lines, felling of trees that pose a danger to the lives of citizens, felling of forests carried out during the removal of obstacles in the form of forest plantations and (or) individual trees that pose a threat to the safety of aircraft flights, felling of individual trees on forest lands, felling of individual trees in the border strip and border zone, felling of trees during scientific research, prospecting, and geodetic work); (b) by the amount of timber harvested (during forest thinning (thinning, clearing, passage cutting), reconstruction cutting, clear sanitary cutting (during the development of windfall, snow drift, snow break, burnt areas, drying, dried-out forest stands, as well as forest stands damaged by pests), cutting of low-value forest stands for the procurement of timber for fuel, energy and technological purposes, removal of litter, thinning of undergrowth, cutting of undergrowth and (or) shrubs, forest cutting carried out during the laying of quarter clearings, creation of fire breaks and their maintenance, cutting of access roads to the felling area, cutting carried out for the purpose of preparatory work, cutting of plantation forest crops, cutting of strips of growing coniferous stands in the inter-fire space and along the edges of drying coniferous stands, felling of trees on forest seed plantations, felling of forests during clearing of forest fund areas from forest stands for the construction and maintenance of forest nurseries, forest seed plantations, selection and genetic species, roads, utility lines, other linear structures, geological exploration of the subsoil, cutting of firing lines, felling of forests carried out during the implementation of measures to prevent overgrowing of open swamps with woody and shrubby vegetation, felling of trees and shrubs for the care of plants related to species included in the Red Book of endangered species of the Republic of Belarus or protected in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, and (or) their parts; and (c) forest felling carried out during the implementation of measures to preserve and restore (reintroduce) populations of wild animals and wild growing plants related to species included in the Red Book of endangered species of the Republic of Belarus or protected in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, and (or) their parts, felling of trees and shrubs of invasive species, felling of trees during the allocation of logging areas, laying out test plots, forest management, conducting forest pathology monitoring, implementing radiation monitoring in forests, felling of trees during the extinguishing of forest fires, repair and reconstruction of forestry roads, drainage systems.
