Abstract
The 37 sections of the Act are placed under the following headings: Preliminary (2); Forest Reserves (3-6); Administration (7-17); Penalties (18-21); Legal procedure (22-29); Forest roads (30-37). (1 Schedule)
The Minister may declare any part of the national land a forest reserve, No right whatever shall be acquired in or over a forest reserve except by succession or under a grant, lease or contract in writing made by or on behalf of the Minister or of some person in whom such right was vested at the time of declaration of such forest reserve. The Forest Reserve shall be subject to such Regulations as the Minister may make pursuant to section 5 Cattle trespassing in or upon any land in contravention of any rules or regulations made under this Act shall be deemed to have been found in a prohibited area for the purposes of section 6 of the Cattle Trespass Act. Other provisions of this Act, inert alia, grant further regulation making powers to the Minister and prescribe offences and penslaties.
