Abstract
An Act laying down provisions relating to the preservation of agricultural land and agricultural activities. For the purpose of this Act agriculture means the cultivation of the soil and plants, leaving land uncropped or using it for forestry purposes, or the raising of livestock, and, for these purposes, the making, construction or utilization of works, structures or buildings, except immovables used for residential purposes. In particular, a body is established under the name of Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Qu bec. It is the function of the said commission to secure the preservation of the agricultural land of Qu bec. Thereafter the text deals with the designation of agricultural regions, as well as agricultural zones, review of the agricultural zones, topsoil conservation, agricultural activities in agricultural zones, and penal provisions. The Act consists of 8 chapters and 1 Schedule.
