Abstract
This Act concerns environmental protection in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador; it consists of 125 sections and is divided into 17 Parts. The Act contains general provisions on environmental protection, in particular on environmental education and research (Part II), the release of substances in the environment (Part III), waste disposal and litter (Part IV), waste management (Part V), air quality management (Part VI), contaminated sites (Part VII), dangerous goods (Part VIII), pesticides (Part IX), environmental assessment (Part X) and on inspections and the enforcement of the Act.
