Natural Products Act (S.N.B. 1999, c. N-1.2).

The purposes of this Act include providing the promotion, control and regulation within the Province in any or all respects of the production and marketing of farm products over which the legislative jurisdiction of the Legislature extends, including the prohibition of such marketing in whole or in part; for the promotion of farm products and for research relating to farm products; for the establishment of standards for farm products; for the establishment of standards for facilities used for the production, marketing or processing of farm products; for the establishment of commodity development councils to provide a forum for producers and industry to meet to discuss issues of mutual interest and for the development, conservation and management of forestry resources on private woodlots in the Province.
The Act establishes the New Brunswick Farm Products Commission and regulates its operation. The Act contains provisions on taxes and levies, on the trade of dairy products (Part IX), inspections (Part X), appeals, licences (Part XII), standards (Part XIV), enforcement (Part XV) and offences and penalties (Part XVI). The Act also establishes Commodity Development Councils and defines their functions and powers.
