Abstract
The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the enforcement of the federal legislation on slaughtering, as well as on inspection of animals and of meat. The text consists of 19 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Organization and competence (II); Fees and compensation (III); Criminal proceedings (IV); Final provisions (V).

The present Ordinance repeals the Meat Inspection Ordinance of 23 May 1958.The present Ordinance is consolidated as of 16 June 2010.
