Abstract
The present Law implements the Federal Environment Protection Act of 7 October 1983. The text consists of 51 articles divided into 11 Parts as follows: General competence (I); General measures by the Canton (II); Air pollution (III); Protection against noise (IV); Waste disposal (V); Protection of the soil (VI); Substances harmful to the environment and living organisms (VII) ; Protection against disasters (VIII); Fees and costs (IX); Various provisions (X); Final provisions (XI).

The present Law enters into force on 1 January 1999.
Notes
The present Law is consolidated as of 1 June 2015.The present Law repeals the Law of 6 March 1989 on the same subject.
