Abstract
The present Law enforces the Federal Water Protection Act of 24 January 1991. Local authorities are entrusted with the protection of waters as far as this is not the competence of the federal state or the Canton. The text consists of 51 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Planning protection (II); Conservation and restoration of waters close to nature (III); Drainage (IV); Handling of water-polluting substances (V); Claim service, water conservation police, security (VI); Proceedings (VII); Penalties and legal protection (VIII); Transitional and final provisions (IX).
