Abstract
The present Ordinance enforces the Federal Act on foodstuff and articles of daily use (Foodstuff Act) of 9 October 1992. In particular, the Ordinance sets out in details the competent authorities in the Canton responsible for the enforcement of the aforementioned Federal Act. The text consists of 16 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Organization and competence (II); Legal protection (III); Financial provisions (IV); Final provisions (V).

The present Ordinance is consolidated as of 9 June 2010.The present Ordinance repeals the Ordinance of 14 April 1962 on the same subject and the Cantonal Meat Inspection Ordinance of 13 September 1968.
