Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Federal Act on hunting and protection of wild mammals and birds of 20 June 1986. The purpose of the Law is to protect wild mammals and birds, as well as to organize and plan hunting activities taking into account local conditions, such as agriculture, nature and animal protection and control of animal disease. Furthermore, the Canton is responsible for the protection of biodiversity and habitats of native and migrating wild mammals and birds and the protection of endangered species. The text consists of 36 articles divided into 7 chapters as follows: Introductory provisions (I); Hunting grounds (II); Lease of hunting grounds (III); Restrictions in hunting practices (IV); Survey of hunting activities (V); Prevention and compensation of damage resulting from game (VI); Transitional and final provisions (VII).
