Abstract
The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to viticulture. The Department of Agriculture is in charge of the enforcement of federal legislation on wine and wine growing. In particular, the Viticulture Office is entrusted with the following tasks: to authorize or deny the implantation of new vine plants; keep a Wine Register; organize, carry out and control the harvest of grapes; classify various grapes; cooperate with cantonal associations of wine growers; provide expertise on wine growing. A special commission entitled to grant labels DOCs shall be appointed. All wine growers shall report within the end of April all the required information to the cantonal Wine Register. The text consists of 23 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Viticulture Register (II); Control of harvesting (III); Minimum content of sugar and limitation of quantities (IV); Designation of products (V); Final provisions (VI).
