Decree No. 100 of the State Administration for Market Regulation promulgating the Measures for Food Labeling Supervision and Administration.

These Measures for Food Labeling Supervision and Adminstration aim to standardize food labeling, enhance supervision, and protect consumer rights. The Measures apply to food and food additives produced and sold within China.
The Measures emphasize transparency and consumer protection in food labeling practices. The Measures set up requirements for clear, accurate, and legally compliant labels, prohibitions on misleading or false claims, and specific guidelines for pre-packaged food labels, including mandatory information such as production date, shelf life, and ingredient list. The food production license number marked on the pre-packaged food label should be the number stated on the actual producer's food production license. The food production license number may not be marked on the label of imported pre-packaged food.
The Measures also make provisions, inter alia, for: special labeling requirements for dietary supplements, infant formula, foods for special medical purposes, the responsibilities of food producers and local market supervision departments, penalties for violations.
