Provisions on Administrative Penalties for Fisheries (Decree No. 36 of the Ministry of Agriculture).

The purposes of these Provisions is to strictly enforce fishery laws and regulations, regulate fishery administrative penalties, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of fishery producers. If the number of juveniles that fail to meet the harvesting standards exceeds the prescribed proportion in the fishing of key protected fishery resource species, the excess juveniles shall be confiscated and a fine of up to 30000 yuan may be imposed; Those who receive heavier punishment may have their catch confiscated (art.12). Unauthorized fishing of precious and endangered aquatic animals that are prohibited by state regulations shall be handled in accordance with the Wildlife Protection Law and the Implementation Regulations thereof(art.6).
