Abstract
These Provisions are formulated to strengthen meteorological disaster defence, avoid and reduce losses caused by meteorological disasters, and protect the safety of people's lives and property.
A meteorological disaster warning signal consists of name, icon, meaning and defense guidance. The meteorological disasters include typhoon, rainstorm, high temperature, thunderstorm and strong wind, road icing, hail, forest fire, etc. Meteorological disaster warning signals shall be uniformly issued by meteorological stations affiliated with meteorological authorities at or above the county level. No organization or individual shall disseminate meteorological disaster warning signals provided by meteorological stations affiliated with non meteorological authorities to the public. The Provisions also categorize warnings into different levels based on the severity of the weather conditions.
