Abstract
This Decree is composed of 18 articles divided in III Chapters and three Annexes. It defines conservation and protection measures for the flora and fauna species subject to extinction which are considered the basic components of national biodiversity and natural heritage of Cape Verde. In particular, the Decree regulates the criteria for species classification, the protection and monitoring duties required to public authorities, especially for the Environmental Authority. Moreover, the Decree rules on the relevant scientific research and industrial zoning activities as well as on biological security requirements. Finally, the Decree rules on the certificate for species capture. The Annex provides: a list of the national network of Protected Areas; list of vegetal species to be protected; List of animal species to be protected.
