Abstract
This Resolution approves the National Plan for Cetacean Conservation. This Plan, consisting of 4 sections and ten Annexes, as an instrument for the implementation of policies on protected species identified as threatened over the next five years, and aims to set the bases, rules and regulations to reduce the negative effects of anthropogenic activity and increase knowledge of all cetacean species and their habitats within the waters of Cape Verde. The Plan sets out four specific objectives with their respective strategies, such as: set the bases, rules and regulations for the conservation of cetacean species found in Cape Verde; create a medium/long term research programme to capitalize on the information scientific, to minimize potential threats; create a monitoring program for the species and create an awareness programme, continuous environmental education.
