Abstract
This Law, consisting of 6 Chapters, divided into 41 articles, establishes phytosanitary protection norms within the territory of Cape Verde, to be applied to plant and plant products. It also creates the National Organization for Plant Protection (ONPV), aiming at implementing the National policy on plant protection, prescribing instruments of prevention and fight against plant harmful organisms, issuing to competent authorities for phytosanitary inspection the necessary resources and means to control imports, exports and carry out controls on the National territory of related products, and establishes offence and penalties regime.
