Abstract
This Law, consisting of 8 Chapters, approves the new legal regime for the declaration and functioning of Special Touristic Areas. It defines special touristic areas as: areas with potentialities for future touristic development; Integral Touristic Development Areas as: areas with special touristic characteristics; and Tourism Reserve and Protected Areas as: natural heritage areas with high value, whose preservation is necessary to guarantee the National touristic products. Special Touristic Areas are classified for territorial management purpose as: a) Integral Touristic Development Areas (ZDTI); b) Tourism Reserve and Protected Areas (ZRPT).
