Abstract
This Decree, based on provisions of subsection (2) of article 15 of the Nature and Wildlife Protection and Management Laws of 2003 in its consolidated version, provides for conservation, protection and management of the marine protected area as special conservation zone, specified in the text of the Decree, and of the habitats and the species included in the area. In order to achieve its specific conservation objectives, the Decree provides for the following managing actions: mapping and recording and updating of data and monitoring of habitats and species; implementation of Management Plans; carrying out small-scale projects and works aimed at improving, preserving and/or restoring habitats and species; promoting environmental education. The Decree also specifies prohibited activities within the marine protected area, including discharge of waste into the marine environment, harvesting, collection, cutting, uprooting or destruction of Posidonia shoots, using trawls and coastal fishing methods, using genetic material for private purposes without complying with the national and European legislation.
