Nature and wildlife protection and management Law, 2003 (N. 153(I)2003).

This Law comes forth with the view to harmonising the current Cypriot legislation with the European standards. In particular, there is a partial harmonisation with Directive 92/43 as amended by Directive 97/62, and full alignment with Directive 83/129 concerning the importation into Member States of skins of certain seal pups and products derived therefore, as amended by Directive 89/370. The Law consists of four parts: general provisions (Part I), conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (Part II), importation into the national territory of skins of seal pups and products derived therefore (Part III), provisions of miscellaneous nature (Part IV).
