Abstract
This Law may be cited as the Limitation of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds due to the Use of Organic Solvents in Certain Paints, Varnishes, Vehicle Refinishing Products and Other Paints Products (Amendment) Law of 2011 and shall be read as one with the Limitation of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds due to the Use of Organic Solvents in Certain Paints, Varnishes, Vehicle Refinishing Products and Other Paints Products Laws of 2006-2010 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Law"). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read as one and will be referred to as the Limitation of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds due to the Use of Organic Solvents in Certain Paints, Varnishes, Vehicle Refinishing Products and Other Paints Products Laws of 2006-2011. The present law is issued with a view of harmonizing the Cypriot legislative framework with Commission Directive 2010/79/EU on the adaptation to technical progress of Annex III to Directive 2004/42/EC on the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds. Under this light, Annex III to the principal law is replaced with the one attached to this law in compliance with the provisions of Directive 2010/79/EU.
