Abstract
Ffor a better compliance with Council Directive 1999/13/EC on the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds due to the use of organic solvents in certain activities and installations, the present Law aims at reducing the total volatile organic compounds in certain paints, varnishes, vehicle refinishing paints and other products, in order to prevent or reduce pollution of the atmosphere due to the concentration of volatile organic compounds in the formation of the tropospheric ozone. To reach this objective, the Law provides for technical requirements regarding certain colours, varnishes, vehicle refinishing paints and other paint products. The Minister shall appoint inspectors to supervise the implementation of the provisions of this Law. In case the inspectors have reason to believe that there has been a breach of any provision of this Law and in relation to any product, may seize samples of these products to verify any such infringement.
