Nature and Wildlife Protection and Management (Amendment) Law, 2006 (Law No. 131(I)2006).

This Law may be cited as the Nature and Wildlife Protection and Management (Amendment) Law of 2006 and shall be read as one with the Nature and Wildlife Protection and Management Law of 2003 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read as one and will be referred to as Nature and Wildlife Protection and Management Laws, 2003-2006. With the purpose of better aligning the Cypriot legislation with Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora, this law carries forward amendments to the basic law by amending articles Nos. 13, 15 and 16 and by replacing article 30 prohibiting the release into the natural environment of non-native species of wild fauna and flora.
