The Production and Marketing of Plant Propagating Material Law, no. 149(I) of 2007.

This Law, in order to harmonise the Cypriot Legislation with the European Union act entitled "Commission Implementing Directive 2014/97/EU of 15 October 2014 implementing Council Directive 2008/90/EC as regards the registration of suppliers, the registration of varieties and the common catalogue of varieties, provides for the production and marketing of plant propagating material. The Law concerns the following matters: appointment of the council for the control of the production and marketing of plant propagating material; powers of the Council and of the Director, including inspection, control and imposition of administrative fines; trading and distribution of plant propagating material; control, marking and certification of plant propagating material; inspectors' powers and responsibilities; offences and penalties.
