Abstract
These Regulations, issued pursuant to Article 11 of the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf Law, provide for declaring safety zone and related regimes, in order to ensure the safety of a facility, and of the persons employed in the establishment, and the safety of the navigation. The Regulations define: permit to enter and, or remain in a safety zone, and sail through a safety zone; installation licensee; installation, as any artificial island, platform or structure for research or exploitation of hydrocarbons, constructed within the exclusive economic zone and or the continental shelf of the Republic. The Regulations prescribe the limits and the coordinates of the safety zone area; prohibitions and limitations concerning the safety zone; the safety zone use permit; inspection and controls of the installation; roles and responsibilities of authorities and institutions; related fees for the issuance of permits; information and publication of advertisements to shippers; inspection and control of vessels; monitoring activity; offences and penalties.
