Abstract
These Regulations, issued pursuant to the provisions of article 29 of the Law no. 54 of 1996 on Food (Control and Sale) and incorporating Commission Directive 2003/95/EC amending Directive 96/77/EC laying down specific purity criteria on food additives other than colours and sweeteners, shall be read together with the Various Substances in Food Regulations 2002, as amended by Decrees (hereinafter referred to as "the basic regulations"), and the basic Regulations and these Regulations shall together be referred to as the Miscellaneous Substances in Food Regulations 2002 to 2004. The First Annex of the basic Regulations is amended by replacing the paragraphs relating to the specific miscellaneous substances by the sections listed in the Table of these Regulations. According to these Regulations, any substance or food that was labeled or circulated on the market before November 1, 2004, may be made available even if it does not meet the provisions of these Regulations, provided that it meets the provisions of the basic Regulations, as they were before they were amended by the Miscellaneous Substances in Food (Amendment) Regulations 2004.
