Veterinary Medicines and Medicated Feed Law, no. 50 of 2024.

This Law provides for implementing European Regulations regarding placing on the market and use of medicated feed, and veterinary medicinal products. The Law concerns the following matters: registered veterinarian; registered pharmacist; approved veterinary medicinal product; designated inspector; veterinary practitioner. The Law establishes a Council for Veterinary Medicines and specifies its composition and the powers and duties of its members, including: granting or refusing marketing authorisations for veterinary medicinal products and medicated animal feed; providing for importing and disposal of veterinary medicinal products, intermediate products and medicated animal feed; arranging classification of approved veterinary medicines into categories administered with or without a veterinary prescription. Further matters covered by this Law include: general prohibitions concerning veterinary medicinal products; obligations of wholesalers; veterinary prescription; collection and disposal of waste; imposition of administrative sanctions; offences and penalties.
