Abstract
This Act lays down provisions a view to protect the climate and the environment: (a) promote the use of renewable energy sources, secondary sources, high-efficiency combined heat and power generation, biomethane and decentralized production of electricity; (b) ensure that increasing the share of renewables in primary energy resources to achieve the objectives specified in the Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC; (c) contribute to the economical use of natural resources and sustainable development of society; (d) create conditions to fulfill a binding target for the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption in the Czech Republic. The present Act is composed of the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); National action plan (Sec. 2); Promotion of electricity from renewable sources and secondary sources and high-efficiency combined heat and power generation (Sec. 3); Solar electricity (Sec. 4); Heat from renewable sources (Sec. 5); Funding support for electricity and heat (Sec. 6); Biomethane (Sec. 7); Secentralized support of electricity (Sec. 8); Certificates of origin of electricity from renewable sources (Sec. 9); Common provisions (Sec. 10).
