Abstract
The provisions of this Regulation apply only to the commercial production and placing on the market of cheese and products made of cheese. The fat content levels of the cheese and cheese products are nominated by this Regulation. Cheese may only be placed on the market under one of the geographical designations of origin listed in Appendix 1b of the Regulation. The Regulation sets forth quality class, branded cheese, quality tests for domestic brand cheese and brand cheese from other members states. The Regulation further provides for the marking and labelling regulations. Article 20 of the Regulation refers to production of rennet substitutes and Article 27 of the Regulation refers to the authority remain at federal states to legislate on the production of milk, affixing signs for official control and quality test of cheese. The Regulation further provides the crimes and administrative offences. This Regulation consists of 8 Sections, 32 Articles and 6 Appendixes.
