Abstract
The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transpose the Council Directive 2006/88/EC on animal health requirements for aquaculture animals and products thereof, and on the prevention and control of certain diseases in aquatic animals of 24 October 2006 into German law. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the prevention of freshwater fish disease, mussel disease and to the creation of unpolluted fish farms and areas. The text consists of 30 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Authorization and registration of fish farms (2); Duty of fish farmers and other responsible persons (3); Monitoring, protected area, prohibition of vaccination (4); Special provisions on the marketing and transport of fish (5); Special provisions on protection (6); Penalties, violations (7). Two Annexes are enclosed.
