Abstract
An Ordinance to regulate hygiene and quality requirements for milk products. The Ordinance defines at the outset its scope of application; article 2 contains a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as "milk", "raw milk", "milk products", "production plants", etc. Then the Ordinance treats issues such as production and treatment of raw milk, production and treatment of milk treated with heat, additional requirements for processing homogenised milk, requirements for disinfectant products. Import of milk and milk products from third countries is also dealt with. Finally, the Ordinance sets out penalties in case of violation. The Ordinance consists of 30 articles.

An Ordinance of 28 July 1998 published in BGBl. No. 47, Teil I, 31 July 1998, p. 1937 amends the above-mentioned Ordinance of 24 April 1995 on hygienic requirements for milk and milk products. The amendments concern a few additions to articles 22 and 27. Another Ordinance of 7 July 1998 published in BGBl. No. 44, Teil I, 14 July 1998, p. 1808 amends this Ordinance. The amendment concerns the addition of article 16a on Residues.Not all Annexes are availabe on file.The present Ordinance, in this version of 20 July 2000, is consolidated as of 12 November 2004.
