Abstract
The Ordinance addresses the regulations surrounding the labeling and packaging of certified plant material, specifically focusing on the requirements for packaging and the provision of information to consumers. It operates within the legal framework established by the Seed Marketing Act and relevant EU regulations, aiming to ensure the quality and traceability of plant products. Key legal principles include the necessity for proper labeling, the provision of specific information regarding plant categories, classes, and recognition numbers, and the adherence to established standards for packaging to prevent contamination and ensure consumer safety. The text consists of 34 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Certified planting material (2); Packaging and labelling (3); Additional requirements for bringing into circulations (4). Three Annexes are enclosed. Article 7 is deleted. Section 2a on Marketing of seed potatoes of non-authorised varieties is added. The Ordinance has 5 Appendixes.
