Thüringen Water Law.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to water issues in Thüringen. At the outset the Law contains a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein, such as, for example, “natural waters”, “surface waters”, “artificial waters”, “groundwater”, “still waters”, “catchment area”. The text consists of 136 articles divided into 10 Parts as follows: Common provisions for waters (I); Special provisions (II); Water plants (III); Waste water elimination and water supply (IV); Maintenance and improvement of surface waters (V); Ensuring discharge and protection of waters (VI); Surveillance of waters, prevention of dangers (VII); Compulsory rights, compensation, settlement (VIII); Provisions concerning competence and proceedings, special provisions for industrial projects (IX); Penalties, violations and final provisions (X). Five Annexes are enclosed.
