Abstract
The Act ensures regulations on the maintenance of compulsory stocks of crude oil (including condensate of mineral origin) and petroleum products (including refined and motor fuels) adhering to provisions implementing EC regulations. Companies importing or producing crude oil or petroleum products shall maintain compulsory stocks of these goods and the Ministry of Environment and Energy shall regulate its procedures. The Act contains provisions that implement Council Directive 68/414/EEC of 20 December 1968 imposing an obligation on Member States to maintain minimum stocks of crude oil and / or petroleum products (Official Journal 1968 L 308/14) as amended by Council Directive 98/93/EC of 14 December 1998 (Official Journal 1998 L 358/100).
