Order No. 11 on the identification and notification of European Critical Infrastructure in the energy sector and assessment of better protection thereof (EPCIP Directive).

Type of law

The Order establishes rules and procedures for the identification and designation of European critical infrastructure in the energy sector and assesses the need of protection thereof. The IOrder shall ensure the maintenance of energy-supply in case of emergencies caused by natural, man-made and technological threats and shall follow the European Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection directive (ECIP-directive) in the required sequential four steps for assessement. The Danish Energy Agency shall ensure that compliance is followed.
The Order is composed of 7 Chapters: Scope and definitions (1); Identification and designation of European Critical Infrastructure (2); Security plans of the European Critical Infrastructure (3); Security liaison (4); Operating conditions (5); Monitoring (6); Other provisions (7).

Entry into force notes
This Order enters into force on 12 January 2011.
This Order is not applicable to Greenland nor the Faroe Islands.
