Abstract
This Act applies to the keeping of milk producing cattle. It lays down rules for the monitoring of cattle (their health and movement) and ensures that regular hygiene procedures, cooling, airing, lighting and noise management take place for the protection of the animals well-being. Milk cattle may not be tied up. The Order aheres to EU directives.
The Act consists of 8 Chapters: Purpose and scope (1); Common provisions (2); Specific rules for milk cows (3); Calves (4); Specific rules for offsprings (5); Specific rules for calves (6); Duty of electronic notification (6a); Injunctions and penalties (7); Entry into force and transitional provision (8).
