Abstract
The Order partly amends Order No. 1276, in particular provisions in cases of scrapie disease found in sheeps and goats. The Footnote is slightly changed, whereas implementation of EU directives includes now Commission Decision 94/273/EC on the protection of animals during transport, Official Journal 2001, L 202, page 63. In the Introduction of the Order, the now amended implementation Act (and articles) is as follows: articles 7-8, 30 (sections 1,3) art. 34, 37, 67, 70 (sect. 3) of Animal Keeping Act No. 466 (LEX-FAOC133677).
Penalty provisions include now liability of fines for non-compliance with (health) damages incurred in animals or/and persons, which may be subject to imprisonment up to 2 years.
Livestock imported into Denmark from Member States as of 1 July 2013, and not complying with provisions of Appendix VIII, Chapter A, Section A, No. 4.1, point b of European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No. 999/2001 laying down rules for the prevention, control and eradication of certain transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE Regulation), shall be restricted to quarantine zones for 7 years. These zone restrictions mean that farming of these animals is not permitted with the result of slaughtering upon Danish Veterinary and Food Administration s decision.
