Abstract
This Directive lays down animal health conditions governing intra-Community trade in ovine and caprine animals. The definitions laid down in article 2 of Directive 64/432/EEC shall apply, with the addition of those given in article 2 of this Directive. Trade in ovine and caprine animals for slaughter or for breeding and fattening may take place only if they fulfill the conditions prescribed by articles 4, 5 and 6. The conditions include identification and registration, the origin and the place in which the animals have been reared, absence of any of the diseases listed out in the Annexes attached. During transportation the animals must be accompanied by a health certificate to be signed by an official veterinarian and conforming to the models laid down in Annex E.
