Abstract
The Order applies to the food Authority's administrative tasks and responsibilities in monitoring issues regarding the food sector. The Food Administration prepares bills and provides administrative regulations, counselling, planning and preparing programmes, taking decisions on individual cases according to national rules and EU legislations in the areas assigned to the Director of Food & Drug Administration. Furthermore, the Food Administration holds chairmanship and secretariat functions for the Danish Codex Alimentarius Committee; for the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Advisory Committee for Diseases in Aquaculture; and for the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Advisory Committee on Cost Control.

For Greenland, the Food Administration's powers are conferred on the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries in adherence to Orders No. 523, No. 524 and No. 525 of 8 June 2004.The following powers conferred on the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries under the Fisheries Act shall be exercised by the Director of Food & Drug Administration: (1) Powers in accordance to article 10 on regulating and implement measures to comply with Council Regulation (EC) No. 1005/2008 establishing a Community system to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. (2) Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1010/2009 of 22 October 2009. (3) Commission Regulation (EC) No. 404/2011 of 8 April 2011. (4) Powers in accordance to articles 112c, 114a, 117 (sect. 1, 2, No. 1-4, sections 3 and 4), articles 118-120 to carry out verification of compliance with Council Regulation (EC) No. 1005/2008. (5) Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1010/2009 of 22 October 2009. (6) Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1224 of 20 November 2009. (7) Commission Regulation (EC) No. 404/2011 of 8 April 2011.
