Abstract
The Order applies to specific financial support to farmers, who produce perennial energy crops on land eligible to the single payment scheme. The purpose of this special support is to promote production of biomass by awarding grants for the production of perennial energy crops, as well as the reduction of soil nutrient treatment. The scheme will also help to reduce emissions of nitrogen and pesticides to the aquatic environment. These areas may b used for the cultivation of willow, of poplar, of alder and ash, hazel or a mix of the permitted species. The areas for which funding is requested, shall constitute a coherent area of at least 0.30 ha. Energy crops must be established with one or more of the following species: Salix, Poppulus, Alnus glutinosa, Fraxinus excelsior and Corylus avellana.
