Regulation No. 454 on registration of varieties of plant propagation material on the national variety list.

This Executive Order, issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, governs the registration of varieties of plant reproductive material on Denmark’s national variety list, covering seeds, agricultural and vegetable crops, seed potatoes, vegetable plants, and fruit plants. It sets application procedures and requires varieties generally to be officially tested for distinctness, uniformity, stability, and, where applicable, satisfactory value for cultivation and use. It also regulates genetically modified varieties, conservation varieties, hobby varieties, maintenance breeding, the duration and renewal of registrations, withdrawal of approval, and record-keeping by the responsible authorities. The order incorporates CPVO and UPOV testing protocols, and includes special rules for organic varieties.
