Abstract
This Act governs the generation, transmission, sale, export, import and transit of electricity and the economic and technical management of the power system. This Act prescribes the principles of the operation of the electricity market, based on the need to ensure an effective supply of electricity which is provided at a reasonable price and which meets environmental requirements and the needs of consumers, and the utilisation of energy sources in a balanced manner, in an environmentally clean way and with a long-term perspective. The Act further provides for market participants; system responsibility; balance responsibility, balance settlement and balancing electricity; generation; network activities; support for payment of connection charge; sale; contracts; building a wind power plant on a public water body; cooperation mechanism for promoting the production of renewable energy; state supervision; and liability.
