Abstract
The present Directive amends Annexes I and II to Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market. By way of derogation from the provisions established therein, for active substances consisting of microorganisms or viruses, tests and analyses done to obtain data on the properties or safety with respect to other aspects than human health, may have been conducted by official or officially recognized testing facilities or organizations which satisfy, as a minimum, the requirements under points 2.2 and 2.3 of the introduction to Annexes II and III to Directive 91/414/EEC. Part B of Annex II is replaced by the text laid down in Annex I to the present Directive. Part B of Annex III to Directive 91/414/EEC is replaced by the text contained in Annex II hereto. Such Part provides data requirements for the authorization of a plant protection product based on preparations of microorganisms, including viruses.
