Abstract
This Directive concerns the authorization, placing on the market, use and control within the Community of plant protection products in commercial form and of active substances used to protect plants or plant products against harmful organisms. Member States shall prescribe that plant protection products may not be placed on the market and used in their territory unless they have authorized the product in accordance with this Directive and shall ensure that a plant protection product is not authorized unless its active substances are listed in Annex I and any conditions laid down therein are fulfilled. Under article 15 are listed the conditions for packaging and labelling of plant protection products. Other Directives that include new active substances in Annex have many times amended this Directive.
