Abstract
With a view to protecting the environment and consumers’ health, the Community fixes the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for pesticides, which represent the upper limits to the amounts of such residues that might be found in commodities when good agricultural practices have been respected by producers. The present Directive consists of five articles and an Annex, laying down some amendments and addenda to Community provisions in force in the field. The Annex attached specifies the commodities to which the MRLs shall apply, covering in particular fruits, nuts, vegetables, oils seeds, tea, potatoes.
