This Directive concerns foodstuffs of animal origin in so far as those foodstuffs may contain residues of pesticides, and without prejudice to Community or national provisions concerning dietary or children's food. Member States shall ensure that the products referred to in Article 1 do not, from the time they are put into circulation, present a danger to human health as a result of the presence of pesticide residues and may not contain, from the time they are put into circulation, levels of pesticide residues greater than those specified in this Directive. In Annex I are listed foodstuffs of animal origin and in Annex II foodstuffs may contain residues of pesticides. Annexes to this Directive have been several times amended.
