Abstract
The present Directive contains amendments and addenda to Community provisions in force in matter of placing on the market of certain seeds and propagating materials. In particular, article 11 of Council Directive 66/400/EEC is hereby substituted. Directive 66/401/EEC is amended as follows: two new paragraphs are inserted in article 2; article 10 is substituted. Directive 66/402/EEC is amended as follows: two paragraphs are added to article 2; article 10 is replaced; new provisions are inserted in Annex IV. A new paragraph is added to article 10 of Directive 68/193/EEC. Paragraphs 1a and 1b are added to article 2 of Directive 69/208/EEC. The sentence laid down in article 6 of this Directive is added to article 21(2) of Directive 70/457/EEC. Lastly, Directive 70/458/EEC is amended as follows: in article 2, the paragraphs 1a and 1b shall be inserted; article 26 shall be substituted. The amendments and addenda mainly concern requirements to be met by packages of basic seed and certified seed, labelling requirements, documents which must accompany the packages, certification of seeds and related conditions.
