Abstract
This Directive fixes a limit value (Annex I) for nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere with a view to protecting human beings against the effects of nitrogen dioxide in the environment. The Directive shall not apply to exposure at work or inside buildings. Member States may establish values more stringent than those laid down in Annex I.
