Abstract
The present Directive establishes the zootechnical and pedigree requirements to be met by pure-bred animals (as defined under article 1) which are placed on the market. The aim is to ensure that the marketing of pure-bred animals, their semen, ova and embryos is not prohibited, restricted or impeded on zootechnical or pedigree grounds.
